Explain it simply

Your job is to place 1 to 9 so no number repeats in a row, column, or 3x3 box.

Step by step

  1. Check the row.
  2. Check the column.
  3. Check the 3x3 box.
  4. Place the number only when all three allow it.
Quick check: Can a number appear twice in one 3x3 box if it is in different rows?

No. Every 3x3 box must contain each number only once.
